Emergency Management

MetroCog is a member of and participates on the Region 1 Emergency Planning Team (R1EPT).

The State of Connecticut is divided into five emergency planning regions (REPT) under the direction of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. The purpose of the REPTs is to bring together professionals from various organizations and agencies that may become involved in responding to a natural or man-made disaster to better plan for and respond to an event.

The MetroCog is a member of and participates on the Region 1 Emergency Planning Team (R1EPT). It provides technical assistance to the transportation and public works emergency support function groups and maintains a dialogue with the chief elected officials of the region on the activities of the R1EPT.

Emergency management programs are typciall funded through a vraiety of sources including grants, the state and by local municipalities.
